Legalization of documents

The Embassy provides services with regards to legalization of original Bulgarian documents only (for example: birth certificates, marriage certificates, academic diplomas, commercial documents and others). The legalization is performed by the embassy after the respective document has been legalized with APOSTIL by a Bulgarian official authority (Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Education or Ministry of Justice) and after an official translation to English or Arabic language has been attached whereas the translation should be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

With regards to the commercial documents and some other documents, the amount of the legalization fee differs in accordance with a special tariff. The applicant needs to confirm the total amount due for the legalization of his documents and needs to pay the fees in advance via a bank transfer to the account of the Embassy and provide a copy of the bank transfer along with the documents for legalization. The legalization of the documents is performed by the respective Consular Services official within 2-3 days and it is not possible to apply for legalization on an urgent basis.
